About the event

A stunning day walk up the Dragon's Back and on the the highest mountain in the Black Mountains. At 810m, Waun Fach is only a smidge shorter than Pen Y Fan but without the crowds. Our ascent will pause to explore the ancient ruins of Dinas Castle where you'll find out about its history before we meander up the ridge of the sleeping Dragon! We will break our journey by learning some map reading along the way.

This hike will explore uneven footpaths and loose ground with some steep sections and a few stiles over at least 12km. There'll be opportunity to reward our efforts with a pub stop at the end!

This event requires a minimum group size of 4. Parking is available at the meeting point for £5. Accommodation is also available locally if you want to turn the day into a longer adventure!
