About the event
Journey along two long-distance trails over two days exploring over a thousand years of history in the stunning Wye Valley! Along the way, there will be the usual LHW fun, games, quizzes and activities!
Our adventure will start and finish in Chepstow where our delve into history starts immediately with its impressive castle! Our walk follows the Wye Valley Walk, 14km along the river of the same name with stunning view points along the way. We'll climb to the Eagle Nest to admire the incredible view before descending to the medieval ruins of Tintern Abbey.
Our second day follows the famous Offa's Dyke Path, built by the 8th century king to defend against neighbouring rivals. We'll travel through gorgeous beech woodlands, hear legends of this ancient monument and pause for optional refreshments at a very modern farm diversification project.
