'Get up to speed' session
Those who did not attend Microadventure 2.0, please join the 'get up to speed' on Wednesday 26th April at 7.30 to allow you to get the most out of Microadventure 3.0. If anyone who attended Microadventure 2.0 would like to join as a refresher, please feel free.
Zoom session: An opportunity for Q&As on Wednesday 3rd May at 7.30pm
We will arrive at our meeting point at 11am on Saturday 13th May where we can leave the cars. Due to the more remote location, car sharing is strongly encouraged so please arrange that through your group chat.
We will head up on to the hills discovering the differences in terrain compared to our previous microadventures and how that effects our navigation techniques and physical movement. We will stay in one of the farm campsites in the village of Llanthony, which are all semi-wild style (just a tap and toilet). For Sunday's walk, you will be challenged to plot the routes. You may chose to walk both days with either full camping kit or just a day bag. We will be walking approximately 10km each day over hills and uneven terrain.
- Explore the differences between lowland and hill/moorland terrain
- Focus on how to interpret contour lines
- Develop our skills using compasses.
- Explore a lesser known but stunning part of the Brecon Beacons.
Invite Only - 1 person This does not include camping fees. Please bring at least £10 in cash.£110.00+£2.75 service fee
