About the event
What's it all about?
Navigation is the key to many outdoor adventures and a fantastic skill to help you feel confident independently outdoors. This event will introduce the basic skills of navigation using a map, building them up progressively at a pace to suit your learning. This is perfect for those new to navigating or who want to build their confidence. There are no silly questions or limits on repeating information - you just need to come and have a go! We will also chat about the things we see along the way including wildlife and history.
What do I need to know?
You don't need to be super fit or speedy but you should be able to walk at least 7km/4miles, be comfortable moving over uneven footpaths, up a couple of steady hills and over a stile or two. Wear supportive, grippy footwear, bring layers, lunch and drink. If you have any questions about what to bring, please get in touch. Maps will be provided but if you have your own you are welcome to bring it.
